Unidentified

I know they’ve been dead for a couple hundred years...

So they probably don’t mind.

And those who were living at the time left no record that the ‘mysterious stones’ marked the place where their loved ones were laid to rest...


The newspaper said:

“The unidentified remains of three bodies, estimated at 200 years old, were dug out of nameless graves on an Ossipee hilltop last week to make way for a strip mall.”


But, y’know, it just seems wrong.

If I were one of those bicentagenarians whose final, peaceful, New Hampshire hilltop resting place was moved to make room for a Dollar Store, you can bet I’d come back to haunt it. That is, if I could stand being in a Dollar Store long enough to haunt it!
