Introducing Myself

I like having a different name, one of my choosing. It makes me feel as if I can be a different person, if I want to. Indeed, Garnet is different from Carla (my off-line persona) in many ways...Carla is very shy and reserved. Garnet is more outgoing. Garnet has more friends than Carla does. Although Carla is well liked and respected by those who know her in her ‘off-line’ life, she (unlike Garnet) does not have a desire to cultivate friendship. Carla is very good at fulfilling her duties, whatever they may be, with an almost compulsive dedication.

She steadfastly tries to be a good wife and mother at home, and a respectable pharmacist and manager (although she is still not quite comfortable with the manager part) at work. Oh, and she makes sure to take care of herself, too. Healthy diet, daily exercise, routine nourishment of her spiritual life... because if something is amiss within, then everything starts to fall apart.

I’m creative. I‘m a writer, I’m an artist. I think, perhaps, that I am these things above all else, even though the practical side of me tries to squelch these aptitudes. But it can’t, really. Creativity wins out. have to write, I have to make beautiful things. That is what I am, more than I am a pharmacist, or a manager, or anything else.

The creative urge is seductive, sensual, spiritual, and yes pornographic ... for it exposes all, for all to see.
